encounters on the Riviera dei Cedri, on the Tyrrhenian coast, in Calabria,
is full of history, culture and tradition. Starting from the museum
Antiquarium of Palazzo Casapesenna, which holds proof of Tortora's
origins dating back to the medieval era; the old churches of the Annunziata
and of the Purgatorio, XII century, the most ancient one in town, shows
inside paintings representing scenes from the bible and keeps a superb
roman-style entrance door. The churches of San Francesco
d'Assisi and of San Pietro, which dates back to the XIV century, or the
magnificent watch-tower Torre Nave, rising on the main hill and
offers the great view of the town and the entire sea-line.
