USTICA ISLAND - SICILY - SOUTH ITALY
Ustica - The small town lies in an amphitheatre around a bay with the port. A road and bordered by beautiful hibiscus staircases leading to the town center, at the top. One of the characteristics of housing is that for some years, the walls of the houses have been "transformed" in the paintings and the artists have painted landscapes, trompe l'oeil, portraits, still lifes, fantastic subjects. The town is dominated by the Tower of St. Maria, the Archaeological Museum that houses finds from the prehistoric village at the Faraglioni and tombs of the Hellenistic-Roman city of Cape Falconiera. In particular, note a unique circular fireplace divided into four parts and beautiful two-handled cups foot high.
